What is an Opportunity Grant?
The KCF Opportunity Grant exists to help athletes just like YOU. If you need financial assistance to join our programs, we’re here for you. Whether you need full or partial support, we’ll work with you. All you have to do is ask.
Who Can Apply?
This is for YOU—if you're an athlete who wants to join our programs, you can apply for the Opportunity Grant! No matter your background or financial situation, we are here to help. If you want to play, we will make it happen.
How Does the Grant Work?
Step 1 - Ask for Help: Let us know how much support you need—whether that’s full or partial.
Step 2 - Choose Your Grant Level: Create your own custom plan with us!
Step 3 - Get Involved: Help out in our programs by volunteering a little and staying engaged with the community.
Step 4 - Start Playing: Once we know what you need, we’ll take care of the rest and get you playing right away.

What’s Expected from You?
We want athletes who are excited to grow and be part of our community. If you receive a grant, we’ll ask you to stay involved by helping out in some way, whether that’s volunteering or participating actively in our programs. This means you’ll need to attend practices and games, engage in team events, and help with volunteer projects as needed. The more you put in, the more you’ll get out of the experience. It’s all about growing together!

Ready to get started? Applying for the Opportunity Grant is simple! Just email us at OG_Team@keycityfoundation.org and tell us what kind of support you need. No pressure, no complicated steps—just let us know how we can help.
Step 1: Draft an email to the Opportunity Grants (OG) Team at OG_Team@keycityfoundation.org.
Step 2: Ensure the email's subject is labeled with what grant option you are looking for (ex: Boys Lacrosse 25% OG Application)
Step 3: Provide the following information in the body of the message -
- Parent/Guardian Name
- Grant Option Request
- Parent/Guardian Email(s)
- Parent/Guardian Phone Number(s)
- Age of Child
- Gender of Child
- Sports program(s) they are interested in
- Any additional information or special requests
Special Note: By applying for the Opportunity Grant, you agree to actively participate in practices, games, and events. You will also need to sign a contract committing to these responsibilities before receiving the grant. This helps us ensure everyone is fully involved and growing with the program.
